Wedding Tips >>

When you are getting married there are usually a number of things you can do yourself if you want to save money on the wedding.  Do you have friends who are handy with baking? Ask one of them to make your wedding cake or make it yourself; that will save a lot of money there. You can cut the guest list down and keep it to just family or a small group.  Have the ceremony at the beach or somewhere romantic but inexpensive.  There are many ways to save money and still have a wonderful day.

Saving Money in Style
Instead of expensive floral arrangements just get simple bouquets, or carry a single flower of your choice. That can look so elegant. Friends with cameras can take care of the photos, and if you want music, get someone to just run a CD player with favorites of yours and have the bridal party bring music they enjoy too. With these tips you can save money on the wedding and use it for a honeymoon, or whatever else you may need.

Intimate Feel
You can have a wonderful wedding without all the expensive trappings: a nice, intimate ceremony with just a few friends and family.  Maybe a pot luck reception  afterward instead of catering,  and don’t forget the thank you notes  too you can make your own just like the invitations  your guests will appreciate the  touch  of originality in this day and age when everything is manufactured.  There is something to say for original and intimate parties especially when they can save hundreds of dollars and still be as memorable as the big commercialized productions a lot of weddings are today.

My own wedding was a simple affair with a justice of the peace and our closest friends. After, we went out to dinner at an oriental restaurant and then spent the remainder of the day celebrating at the beach - very small but I will remember it fondly always. To me, that’s what is important: friends, close family and the two of you on a special day. Simple celebrations can be the best!  Consider this for the next time you help a friend arrange a wedding; they may be glad of the savings.
