Cheap Wedding Advice
You have decided to take the plunge and enter the world of holy matrimony. The two of you have a limited budget and as you are going over all the things you will need for your wedding day, the list gets longer and more expensive, and it is getting to a point where it will break the bank to have what you have set up on paper. That makes for a whole heap of worry, not a happy wedding day.
Looking for Alternatives
The two of you should start checking out inexpensive alternatives for some of the things on your list like invitations; you don’t need fancy engraved invitations when simple cards can be made up on the computer or even purchased for very little. Then the only expense is stamps to mail them. What about that live band you want? A DJ works just as well and is cheaper.
How about food?
Catering isn’t really needed. Have an outdoor wedding and have the guests bring a dish for the table and have a huge pot luck meal: it could be a real bonding session and a beautiful memory. Instead of a formal wedding gown and a tux go casual; if the wedding will be in the spring or summer and outdoors there are plenty of lovely dresses that will work for the bride and bridesmaids and still be useable for evening wear at a later date.
Reception and Honeymoon Savings
You can put off the honeymoon until you have vacation time from work; that way you won’t lose out on money and you will have time to save for the trip wherever you want to go. Have the reception at a nearby park or if you have a big enough place, at home or a relative’s home that is big enough - definitely cheaper than a hall!
You can put together a wedding with little expense and it will only require a little more effort on your part and some creativity. Don’t forget to get a friend to take your videos and pictures!
A money saving wedding is the best thing you can do for yourself and your spouse to be. It will put money in your hands for other things like if you are house hunting and will need a deposit for the new place. There are lots of things that this money can be better spent on and yet you will still have a memorable wedding day.
